Saint Mary’s Cancer Center Introduces New Radiation Therapy Technology, Hosts Ribbon Cutting Celebration

Saint Mary's Cancer Center is bringing one of the newest radiation therapy technologies to the River Valley, further enhancing the specialized cancer care available close to home.
The system is designed to support greater precision, comfort and confidence during treatment while helping clinicians deliver radiation therapy with exceptional accuracy. Combined with real-time patient monitoring, the technology helps ensure treatment stays on target while protecting healthy surrounding tissue.
Unlike traditional approaches that rely on skin marks and periodic imaging, the new system uses camera-based monitoring technology to track patient movement during treatment. If movement occurs, treatment can automatically pause until the patient is back in the correct position.
"This investment reflects our commitment to providing exceptional cancer care close to home," said Stephanie Gray, Saint Mary's Cancer Center director. "By combining precision with patient comfort, we're able to deliver an even more personalized treatment experience for the patients and families we serve."

To celebrate the arrival of the new technology, Saint Mary’s and the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 27, at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Cancer Center, 1808 W. Main St. in Russellville.
Community members and healthcare partners are invited to attend. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the cancer care team, learn more about the technology, tour the treatment area and enjoy refreshments.
