Saint Mary’s Honors 2025 Volunteers of the Year
May 13, 2026
Saint Mary’s is proud to recognize Bob Kuras and Irma Jackson as its 2025 Volunteers of the Year, honoring their exceptional dedication, compassion and service to patients, visitors and staff.
The Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes individuals who exemplify commitment, reliability and passion. Since 2016, Kuras and Jackson have been familiar, dependable presences throughout the hospital, earning consistent praise from staff for their willingness to help wherever needed, strong communication skills and positive relationships.
Together, they have contributed more than 6,000 volunteer hours to Saint Mary’s. As the hospital’s volunteer program has continued to evolve alongside the changing healthcare landscape, both have remained steady, flexible and fully committed.
What makes this year’s recognition especially meaningful is the partnership they share. Kuras and Jackson serve side by side, often covering shifts together and supporting one another so seamlessly that when one is absent, their absence is felt. Their teamwork reflects the very spirit of volunteerism.
“Bob and Irma represent the very best of our volunteer auxiliary. Their compassion, reliability and genuine care for others have touched countless patients, families and staff,” said Stephanie Gray, director of cancer center, telecommunications and volunteer services at Saint Mary’s.
Saint Mary’s is grateful for the vital role volunteers play in supporting its mission and strengthening connections across the community.
