A Century of Care: Saint Mary’s Celebrates 100 Years with the Community
September 23, 2025
Saint Mary’s Regional Health System recently marked a historic milestone—100 years of service to the Arkansas River Valley—with a vibrant community celebration that brought together staff, local leaders and long-time supporters.
A Day to Remember
The turnout exceeded all expectations as over 100 community members gathered on campus to reflect on the hospital’s enduring legacy and look ahead to a promising future. The event was filled with heartfelt remarks, proud memories and a renewed sense of connection between Saint Mary’s and the people we serve.
Chief Executive Officer Casey Willis welcomed guests and shared remarks on the hospital’s century-long journey and its exciting path forward. Dr. Jon Clements, chairman of the Saint Mary’s board, delivered a letter on behalf of Lifepoint Health’s Western Division President, Jen Alderfer, highlighting the leadership, resilience and progress of our local team.
Local dignitaries also took part in the occasion. Russellville Mayor Fred Teague spoke to the hospital’s vital role in the city’s growth and health, while Sam Guerra of the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce offered his congratulations and led a ceremonial ribbon cutting to commemorate the milestone.

Honoring History, Celebrating Community
Guests enjoyed refreshments, guided tours of the hospital, and a rare glimpse into the past through our 100-year time capsule display. The capsule will be sealed later this year and opened by future generations in 2050.
We were proud to recognize the students and instructors of the Arkansas Tech University Career Center, who built and generously donated the handcrafted time capsule structure. Their contribution represents the spirit of partnership and progress that has fueled Saint Mary’s success for a century.
From dedicated staff to longtime patients, everyone in attendance had a story to share. And that’s what made the celebration so special—this was not just a hospital anniversary; it was a community celebration of compassion, healing and shared history.

Looking Ahead
As we celebrate 100 years, we remain focused on the future. With new leadership, renewed trust and continued investment in technology, care and people, Saint Mary’s Regional Health System is well-positioned to grow alongside the River Valley region for the next 100 years.
As CEO Casey Willis said, "Let us walk forward together—with gratitude for the past, pride in the present and hope for the future. The next century begins today."
