Kim Stone
When Kim cam to Saint Mary's with diverticulitis, she was hospitalized for several days. While getting ready to leave, she sensed something was wrong, and when she stood up, she immediately collapsed. A blood clot had traveled to her heart, and an abdominal abscess had perforated her colon.
After two weeks in Saint Mary's ICU, Kim transferred to a larger facility for initial rehabilitation. She later returned to Saint Mary's for three weeks to complete rehab therapy closer to home and was honored by the rehab unit staff in a first-ever "graduation" ceremony for reaching the milestone.
A veteran school teacher, wife and mom, Kim says she learned a lot from this experience. "I learned ... not to ever take anything for granted," she said.
Saint Mary's is here for you and for people like Kim. We are committed to providing compassionate, quality care and in making our community healthier every day.
