Saint Mary’s Wellness Fitness Center is a 30,000 square foot facility with indoor track, full basketball court, racquetball courts and other recreational amenities. Also available is a full line of exercise equipment, a free weight room, and much more. An award winning staff of instructors are on hand instructing a wide variety of classes. Personal trainers and childcare are also available.

Our Hours of Operation:

Monday-Thursday – 5:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Friday – 5:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Saturday – 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Sunday – 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

SilverSneakers Program

The SilverSneakers Fitness Program offers an innovative blend of physical activity, healthy lifestyle and socially oriented programming that allows older adults to take greater control of their health. SilverSneakers members receive:

  • A FREE membership at Saint Mary’s Wellness Fitness Center with access to Group Fitness Classes, exercise equipment, whirlpool, steam room, and other available amenities
  • Access to any participating fitness center throughout the U.S. while traveling
  • Customized SilverSneakers classes designed exclusively for older adults who want to improve their strength, flexibility, balance and endurance
  • Health education seminars and other events that promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle
  • A specially trained Senior Advisor at the Fitness Center to introduce you to SilverSneakers and acquaint you with the facility

The award-winning* SilverSneakers Fitness Program is a proven, results-oriented program that enables older adults, often burdened with chronic conditions, to take charge of their health and maintain an active, independent lifestyle.

Fit Kids

Our Fit Kids Department is a safe and friendly place to bring your children while you work out. For children 6 years and older, we offer Fit Kids exercise classes on Tuesday afternoons during the school year.

Hours of Operation:

Monday – Thursday – 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. / 3:45 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.

Friday – 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Saturday – 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

There is a two-hour time limit per day in the Fit Kids Zone. Infants and younger children usually can handle about an hour. Please schedule your workouts accordingly. Parents must remain on the premises while children are in the Fit Kids Zone.

Ages

We are set up to care for children 12 weeks of age through 11 years. Children who are 12 years and older are welcome, but are also allowed to use the facility. Just a reminder, children under 12 years of age are not allowed beyond the front desk unless they are here for an approved activity.

Food and Drink

We are strictly a sitting service. We do not allow food to be brought into the Fit Kids Zone. If the child stays for a long period of time, we will provide a snack if deemed necessary. Drinks for toddlers and infants in cups with lids are allowed.

Illnesses

If a child has one or more of the following conditions, we ask (and reserve the right to refuse admittance) that you do not bring your child into the Fit Kids Zone.

  • A fever of 101 or higher
  • First 24 hours of an antibiotic
  • Persistent cough
  • A rash
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • A common cold
  • Other contagious conditions

This is to eliminate passing any illness to other children and staff. If your child is home sick from school, they will not be allowed in our care. For cost information, please contact Saint Mary’s Wellness Fitness Center at 479-968-7979.

Fitness Floor

Our Fitness Floor has wide variety of cardiovascular equipment, including treadmills, Ellipticals, rowers, Stairmasters, bicycles, and recumbent bicycles. All of our cardio equipment is facing a cardio theater. We also have a walking track, two racquetball courts, and a basketball court. For resistance training, we offer a variety of weight lifting machines, hydraulic machines, free weights, and cables.

Our members can receive a complementary fitness assessment from one of our qualified Fitness Specialists. The Fitness Specialist will design a program just for you, based upon your goals and medical history. After the assessment, you will receive two free workouts with the Fitness Specialist to go over your personal workout and to learn how to use the equipment safely and effectively. Group Fitness

We have an outstanding Group Fitness Department. We offer a wide variety of classes for all ages and fitness levels and we have certified instructors who will make your exercise time fun! Feel free to try a class and work at your level. Listen to your body and remember that if you need to slow down and rest, it’s okay.

Personal Training

Only those individuals who have contracted with and been approved by Saint Mary’s Wellness Fitness Center are allowed to personal train in our facility. Personal Trainers are screened to provide members with qualified, professional training. Each one is required to maintain current certification from an approved, reputable organization. Personal Trainers

Lynette Carruth

Lynette is certified through AFAA as a Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. She teaches many different types of classes at SMWFC. In addition, Lynette is an avid runner and is very interested in helping others to incorporate running into their cardiovascular program. She has experience in all distances ranging from the 5K to the marathon. Lynette is knowledgeable and experienced with weight programs that support and enhance the sport of running. She strives to promote a healthy lifestyle for weight loss, general well being, and improved self-confidence. You can contact her by calling the Fitness Center at 479-968-7979.

Kaylyn Newton

Kaylyn graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a Wellness Science Degree, and is an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. While completing her academic career she worked at SMWFC as an intern, and was hired on our staff as a Fitness Specialist shortly after graduation. She enjoys training clients within every level of fitness. Her mission is to promote a healthy lifestyle, while helping her clients’ achieve their fitness goals. Gerald Riley

Gerald received a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from California State University. He specializes in exercise science, treatment care and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and lever mechanics of the human body. Gerald has spent 30 years in the field of sport specific training and general fitness. His resume includes consulting and training athletes in the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, NCAA division I and II, Olympics, High School and juniors. Julie Rispoli

Julie is certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) in-group fitness. She also holds an AFAA certification in Personal Training. Julie has been teaching group fitness since 1990. Julie and her husband Ron have three children. Jill Roberts

Jill has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Fitness and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology. She is certified as a Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Jill has been working with clients for 7 years and enjoys working with people who have medical concerns, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, or those who are trying to lose weight and create a healthier lifestyle. Jessica White

Jessica is a certified Personal Trainer with the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She is also a certified group fitness instructor through the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). Jessica works at SMWFC as a Fitness Specialist. She loves training individual clients as well as small groups. She graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a degree in Wellness Fitness Program Management. She enjoys training people who are looking to lose weight and shape up for upcoming events or just to have a healthier lifestyle. Phillip Wells

Phillip completed his B.S. degree in Wellness Science/Fitness Management in Fall 2004. His internship was here at Saint Mary’s Wellness Fitness Center. Soon after we hired him to work as a Fitness Specialist, he received his Personal Training Certification through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.
