Gynecology and Obstetrics
Gynecology is the medical practice dealing with the health of the female reproductive system (uterus, vagina, and ovaries). Obstetrics is concerned with childbirth and the care of women giving birth. Many women’s health specialists are board-certified as obstetrician-gynecologists (OB-GYNs), while others solely practice gynecology.
Saint Mary’s staff includes five board-certified OB-GYNs, a board-certified gynecologist and several advanced practitioners. This team provides gynecologic preventative services, and can diagnose and treat diseases in all areas of women’s reproductive health. They also address certain problems present in the bowel, bladder and urinary system.
