The DAISY Foundation® was established in 2000 by the parents of J. Patrick Barnes, a man who died from a disease attacking his immune system (hence the name DAISY). They deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and to them, and they wished to recognize the excellent nursing care he received while in the hospital.
The DAISY Award® is an international program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. You too can say thank you by nominating a nurse who made a difference you will never forget. Please sharing your story with us below.
To learn more about Pat’s story and how The DAISY Foundation recognizes extraordinary nurses, or to read a sample nomination story, visit DAISYFoundation.org.
If you wish to submit your nomination in person or by mail, you may pick up a printed form to complete and return to Saint Mary’s Nursing Administration Office, 1808 W. Main St., Russellville, AR 72801. To have a form mailed to you, call Saint Mary’s Switchboard at 479.968.2841.
