THE RUSSELLVILLE COURIER June 14, 2018
Jim Davidson, Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center CEO, welcomed Project SEARCH graduates, sponsors, and invited guests to the program’s graduation ceremony conducted June 9 at the Friendship Pediatrics facility gymnasium. Project SEARCH is a nine-month internship program for young adults with disabilities which provides tuition-free job training, educational opportunities and developmental opportunities at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
The following interns received their program certificate of completion for the 2017-18 term: Cassandra Claunch, Lakin Grinder, Richard Hausmann, Bethany Johnson, Kord Lewis, Alexis Pope and Kaleigh Reddell.
The internship experience was facilitated by a combination of classroom instruction, career exploration and on-the-job training.
“The graduate interns will serve as mentors for the next group of interns that come through the program,” Dustin Emerson, assistant director of employment services at Friendship Community Care, said. “This program allows a partnership with leading community businesses to offer skilled training for young adults with disabilities. The program’s outcome is to allow these interns the opportunity to obtain gainful employment.”
The program is in the process of selecting new interns for the upcoming year. Applications are available at www.fccare.org/project-search. To learn more about Project SEARCH at Saint Mary’s, click here.
